This is a set of components for at-home insemination, collecting a semen sample and then placing it in the vagina. It is sold over the counter and was developed with fertility specialists. It is not a treatment, and nothing here is a substitute for advice from your own clinician.
What each part does: Collection cup: A slanted scoop with a rounded bottom, shaped to collect a sample with as little left in the cup as possible, and a lid that seals for the walk down the hall.; Applicator: An extended barrel with a rounded tip and a comfort grip for one-handed use. A flange on the barrel is designed to limit how far the barrel can go in.
Timing: Use a collected sample within 30 minutes, and immediately if you can. After depositing, lie back and rest for as long as the instructions direct.
Single use, and not sterile: The applicators are single use. Do not reuse one, and leave it inside its wrapper until you are ready. They are not supplied sterile. A used applicator goes out with ordinary personal-care waste. Two are included so you have a second one available.
Cleaning the cup: Hand wash with mild soap and water and air-dry it. Keep it out of the dishwasher, since the heat can damage it.
Materials: The applicator barrel is copolyester, the plunger is polypropylene and the seal is TPE. The collection cup is copolyester with a TPE lid.
Before you begin: Read the instructions for use all the way through. If any part of an applicator will not come out, seek medical help rather than pulling on it. Talk to your healthcare provider about whether at-home insemination is appropriate for you.
