What they are: Single-use hydrogel pads for sore, worked-over nipples. Cold on contact, and holding that cold for up to 4 hours.
The gel: A hydrating Vitamin E formula, made without added parabens, phthalates or fragrances. The gel side faces skin.
Using one: Apply a pad to clean, dry skin between feedings. Take it off before nursing or pumping and wipe away anything the gel leaves behind. One pad, one wear, then the trash.
Coming off: The pads are shaped for gentle removal. Peeling a pad off sore skin can cost you everything the cooling just bought, so that shape is doing real work at the end.
Storage: They cool on contact by themselves and chilling is not a requirement. Check the box for guidance before you put a pad in the refrigerator.
If skin is cracked or bleeding: Ask a lactation consultant or your provider what your skin needs. A cooling pad is comfort care, not a diagnosis.
