There are two brushes in this line, and the difference matters. This is the one for thick or curly hair. If your kid has fine or straight hair, the soft flexible bristle version is the one you want instead.
Why the combo head: Wide-tooth combs plus bristles. The wide teeth open a dense knot first and give the bristles something they can pass through. A bristle-only brush tends to stop dead in that much volume and texture.
How to use it: Start at the ends and work upward in short sections. Hold the hair above where you are brushing. The pull lands on your hand and not on the scalp. Working from the roots down drags every tangle into one knot at the bottom.
Wet or dry: Both. Damp hair after a bath is usually when detangling is most needed, and a leave-in conditioner or detangling spray makes that pass easier. Dry works for a quick tidy before school.
Care: Pull loose hair out of the head after each use and wipe the base clean, then let it dry fully. Do not boil it. Do not put it in a sterilizer.
