Why 24 matters: Hygiene filters are single use. At Frida's limit of six sessions in 24 hours, a four-filter pack is gone in a day of heavy congestion. Twenty-four covers roughly three or four days of a bad cold with a fresh filter every time, which is what the barrier is there for.
Does snot reach your mouth? No. Mucus is drawn into the wide clear collection tube, and the filter sits between that tube and the mouthpiece as a physical barrier. Fit a new one each session and throw the old one out. Washing and reusing a filter defeats the point.
How to use it: Spray saline into the nostril and give it a moment. Press the wide tip against the outside of the nostril until you feel it seal, hold the opposite nostril closed, and draw a slow, steady breath. If nothing comes out, the seal is the first thing to fix and more saline is the second.
How often: No more than six sessions in a 24-hour period. For a newborn, ask your pediatrician about frequency and positioning.
Cleaning: Remove the filter and throw it away first. Wash the collection tube and mouthpiece in warm soapy water, rinse, and stand them up to dry fully. Store it dry with a fresh filter already loaded, because the next round is usually at 3am.
